The Flextight X5 is used for professional film scanning where high sharpness reliable handling and broad format support are required. It is particularly suitable for photographers archives publishers and collectors who need a high-end scan without automatically moving to a full drum-scanning process.
Within Scan Hub the X5 plays an important middle role: more specialised and precise than general-purpose flatbed workflows but often more practical than drum scanning for many film-based projects. Because it sits inside a calibrated multi-scanner lab its output can also be compared objectively with scans from other systems.
